The “liner” is really just a piece of ribbon I stuck on there.. Oh well, I have just the right solution to cover this up….
The one we can keep pretty and then only use on special occasions, like maybe if we have a special Holiday breakfast for just a few people, or something like that.It’s a good thing too.
That furniture was made in 1867 and probably could use a break if we want it to last for another 150 years!.I added some simple greenery and a neutral runner, along with some basic clear glass pieces to create a look that’s a little bit festive, but will still feel perfect for Winter after the holidays are over.. With all of the clean up that’s going to be happening right after Christmas, it will be so nice to have a room that can just stay as-is and be enjoyed a little while longer.Last year I kept most of the greenery up until after Valentine’s Day.
It was still in great shape and looked beautiful, but I regretfully took it down as we got closer to Spring.I enjoyed it all Winter!.

They feel a little more fun and special occasion-y than regular votives, but they’re so neutral that you really can just set them up and then forget them..It can be hard to weed through all of the different scents available to find something that smells clean and fresh, and really enhances the cozy atmosphere in my home without being too overpowering.
So when I find that one perfect candle, that’s something that really makes my day.Or however long it takes me to burn through the candle.
It’s the best.. Until this happens:.The wicks have all burned all the way down and will no longer light, but there’s still so much wax left!
